Vertie (Bill) W. McNeeley, Jr., 85, of Crossville TN went to be with the Lord on November 20, 2017. He was born July 27, 1932 in Westerly, West Virginia, son of Virtie and Minnie McNeeley. He served in the Army and retired with honorable discharge from the Air Force. He received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He graduated college with a Bachelor of Arts. He was an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Church of God since 1968 and founded Crossville Community Church (formerly Country Church).
He is survived by his wife, Patricia McNeeley, Crossville; daughter, Kathy McNeeley, Cookeville; daughter, Terri La'Gere, Cookeville; son Steve McNeeley, Crossville; daughter, Tabitha McNeeley, Cookeville; grandchildren, Jonathan McNeeley, Jaime Grainger, Lee Eddings, Ashley Eddings, Amber McNeeley, Brandon Kerley and Blake Bowman; and great-grandchildren, Lorin McNeeley, Cashas Grainger, Josey Grainger, Tayslee Eddings, Talon Kerley and Chase Kerley.
He is survived by his sisters Mossie, Nancy, Patsy, Sue, Jerri, and his brothers Don, Benny, Robert, David and Daniel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virtie and Minnie and his sister Violet.
Funeral services were held Saturday November 25, 2017 at 12:00noon from the Chapel of Hood Funeral Home. Burial was in Crossville City Cemetery.
