SCOTT JAMES AKINS age 55 of Crossville, TN passed away February 6, 2022. He was born July 27, 1966, in Illinois, but raised in Jasper, AL, the son of Jack Akins and Carol Hawkins. He worked as a union carpenter foreman with Day and Zimmerman and served in the National Guard.

He is survived by his wife- Ginger Akins of Crossville, TN, sons- Jacob Simmons and his wife Laken of Etowah, TN and Justin Simmons of Cookeville, TN, mother- Carol Griffin and her husband Wayne of Crossville, TN, brothers- Steve Gilpin and his wife Laura of Crossville, TN and Willie Akins of Knoxville, TN, sister- Cyndi Livesay and her husband Mike of Crossville, TN, brother-in-law and sister-in-law- J.L. and Victoria Green of Crossville, TN, mother-in-law- Marcie Green of Crossville, TN and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, Jack Akins, he was preceded by his father-in-law- Leamon Green.

Funeral services will be held Saturday February 12, 2022, at 1pm CST at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11am-1pm CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in Haley's Grove Cemetery.
