Obituary

Born Ruby Ivy Cook to John William and Ivy Louisa Cook in London England August 1931. In London at age 18 she earned a certificate from the National Nursery Examination Board after completing a two year course in Housecraft and Practical Nursery Nursing at Farley Croft Westerham Babies Castle Hawkhurst. She immigrated to Canada first as a nanny for a family then on to the United States. Her husband (Bob) liked to tell the story that he met "Sally" on a blind date, his friend's date. They were married in 1953. She became a United States citizen in 1959. She's been around the world and has experienced many things as a wife of a service member. She is also a dog Mom and loved her dogs Sandy, Winston, Chief, Silver, Zippy, Ziggy, Cybil and Shadow. She is survived by four children Karen (husband Phil), Robbyc(wife Tannie), Mike (wife Lynn) and Tammy (husband Rob) and is a nana to David, Matthew, Luke, Remy, Reed and a great Nana to Emma and Mark.

A Celebration of Life service was held Friday October 15, 2021 at the Good Samaritan multipurpose room.
