Obituary

Norman R. Fischer, 82, loving husband and father passed away peacefully with family at his side on February 15th 2021.
Norman was born on January 18, 1939 in Cable Ohio to Clarence and Helen Fischer. He married the love of his life Phyllis (Arlene) Wickersham on May 24th 1959 and together they raised two sons, Douglas R. and Danny K.
A six year US Navy veteran, he signed with the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, Marysville Plant until he retired in 1997.  In retirement, he spent time working with the clients at File Thirteen of Marysville. Norman and Arlene transferred their residency from Raymond, Ohio to Sunset Ridge, Crossville, Tennessee in 2005.
Norm loved to golf and fish, but he was never so serious to take the fun out of either. Weather permitting, he would mow his yard and the yard of any neighbor that might be out of town or need help. He loved working in the yard, walking his beloved dog Ginger, or sit in their driveway welcoming friends and neighbors to sit a spell.
He was a Past Master Mason, Newton Lodge Number 249, Raymond, Ohio and Mary Chapter Number 9, Order of Eastern Star, East Liberty, Ohio. After moving to Tennessee, Norman reengaged and ignited his loving relationship with God through service in their local United Methodist Church.
Norman was preceded in death by his father Clarence and his mother Helen and siblings Lester, Melvin, Marvin, and Wilma. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Arlene, and his sons Doug (Carrie) and Dan (Stephanie), 6 grand children, 2 step grand children,  3 great grand children and 3 step great grand children. Also surviving are brothers Gene, Russell, and Herb along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 18th at 3PM at Hood Funeral Home, Crossville TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2pm-3pm at the funeral home. A memorial service will follow at a to be determined date in Marysville Ohio.
