CRAB ORCHARD, TENNESSEE Mildred Evelyn Moore (Drawbaugh) of Renegade Mountain near Crab Orchard, died in her sleep on May 18, 2021 at Cumberland Ridge Assisted Living in Crossville, TN from medical complications; she was 101 years old. She was the wife of the late John T. Moore of York, Pa. Visitation with the family will be on Monday, May 24, 2021 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm CDT at Hood Funeral Home, 2371 US-127 in Crossville, TN. A Burial of the Departed Service will be held beginning at 6:00 pm CDT and led by Father Myles Hixson. There will be no public viewing. Following Mildred's final trip home to York, PA, her longtime residence, an Internment Service and burial will follow at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, near Dallastown, Pa. Mildred was born near Dover, Pa on November 23, 1919, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Maude May (Toomey) Drawbaugh. Mildred was a veteran of WWII serving as a WAC overseas in Africa and Italy. After raising her children, she performed assembly operations at various manufacturing companies near Jacobus, Pa, her home of 50 years. She was an avid cook, enjoyed gardening and was passionate about solving crossword puzzles. Mrs. Moore leaves a son, John S. Moore and his wife Barbara of Crab Orchard, Tn; two daughters, Cheryl A. Peters and husband Tom (deceased) of Dauphin, Pa, and Karen S. Moore of Mountain Top, Pa; 6 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren; and a brother, Roy E. Drawbaugh of York, Pa. She was predeceased by her husband John T. Moore; three brothers, John J. Drawbaugh Jr., Robert E. Drawbaugh, and William L. Drawbaugh Sr.; and seven sisters, Anna Marie Drawbaugh, Fannie Hildebrand, Charlotte Bolton, Hazel Fink, Almina Albright, Grace Geisleman and Mary Peters. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cumberland County Master Gardeners Association, P.O. Box 812, Crossville, TN, 38557.
