MILDRED FAYE GERDES age 83 of Crossville, TN passed away November 14, 2019. She was born July 1, 1936 in Philadelphia, TN the daughter of Marshall and Annabelle Bowers McNabb. She retired after many years with General Motors and was a member of Crab Orchard Christian Church. She was a kind and loving mother and grandmother who loved her family deeply. She also had a great fondness for all her animals throughout her life, especially the horses. Because of her excellent cooking skills, her family will always remember the great meals she prepared and all the wonderful family time spent enjoying them.

She was loved by all who were blessed to have known her and will be sadly missed by many.

She is survived by her sons- Danny Smith and his wife Anita of Crossville, TN, Kenny Gerdes and his wife Celia of Mesquite, TX, Mike Gerdes and his wife Marla of Denton, TX, Billy Smith and his wife Michelle of Crossville, TN, Jeff Gerdes and his wife Janet of Summerton, SC, Ron Cohee and his wife Pat of Gas City, IN and David Gerdes and his wife Mary of Belton, TX, daughters- Debbie McCauley and her husband James of Crossville, TN and Diana Cohee also of Crossville, TN, brother- Reed McNabb and his wife Sylvia of Nichols, GA, twenty three grandchildren, thirty five great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband- Henry Gerdes, several brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Sunday November 17, 2019 at 5pm at Crab Orchard Christian Church. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3pm-5pm prior to the service at the church. Graveside Committal services will be held Monday November 18, 2019 at 10am at Green Acres Memory Gardens.
