MAUVALENE C. PHIPPS, age 81 of Crossville, TN, passed away September 27, 2021. She was born December 26, 1939, in Overton County, TN the daughter of Vestle and Marie Wilson Carr. She was a housewife and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband- James Andrew Phipps Sr., daughter- Karen Hunter of Winston-Salem, NC, brothers- Denton Carr and Dennis Carr both of Crossville, TN, sister- Judy Cox of Cleveland, TN, grandchildren- James Andrew Phipps III, Samantha Phipps, Nichole Emerson, Ray Phipps, Frank Phipps, Sam Phipps, and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son- James Andrew Phipps Jr. and sisters- Barbara Daly and Shelia Wyatt.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 7pm at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5pm-7pm at Hood Funeral Home. Burial will be in East TN Veterans Cemetery, at a later date.
