MARVIN C. BENSON age 87 of Crossville, TN passed away August 13, 2020. He was born July 14, 1933 in Athens, TN the son of Fred C. and Bertha Morrow Benson. He spent his life doing what he loved, which was farming. He was a more than 50 year member of Homestead Baptist Church, another milestone in his life that he was very proud of. His time he served in the United States Army in Germany was also a proud and honorable part of his life. Marvin loved people and people loved Marvin and he greatly enjoyed sharing stories about his military service with his friends. The most special part in Marvin's life was the love he shared with his three beautiful granddaughters and the fact that after not being able to see them in the last several months, that he was able to share some of his last words with them personally, a blessing to him and the girls.

He is survived by his wife Martha Benson of Crossville, TN and they were able to celebrate their 63 year anniversary at the hospital on August 4th, another blessing from the Lord. He is also survived by sons- Cecil Benson and his wife Tonya, Norman Benson and his wife Bert and Daniel Benson and his wife Darlene all of Crossville, TN, grandchildren- Brittney Benson, Caitlyn Benson and Hannah Benson Matthews and great grandchild- Hayden Benson Matthews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers- David Benson and Freddie Benson and sister- Evelyn Cain.

Funeral services will be held Sunday August 16, 2020 at 3pm at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1pm-3pm prior to the service at Hood Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Green Acres Memory Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Harville, Jon Matthews, Dillon Searcy, David Roark, Ernie Young and Chuck Davis. Joel Green, Lowell Cain and Ron Cain will serve as honorary.
