Mae Ryon, 75, of Crossville, Tennessee, formerly of Hixson, Tennessee, died peacefully on April 21, 2018.Mae was born March 31, 1943 in Sardis, Oklahoma. She was of the Mormon faith and looked forward to the day of being reunited with her family in heaven.
She spent most of her young life traveling throughout Arizona and New Mexico with her family due to her Father being in the logging industry and moving often for work. She met her first husband James Austin Waldo in New Mexico and soon moved to Crossville to be near his family, they had three children; Sandra Waldo Alvarado, Timothy Waldo and Karen Waldo Nasco.
She lived and worked for many years in the food industry in Crossville, moving to Arizona in 1982 to be near her family. She met her second husband, James Dewey Ryon Sr. in Springerville, Arizona and was happily married for 26 years until his death in 2010.
She was loved by so many. She never met a stranger and could find something in common with anyone. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was barely 5 feet tall but had a giant personality and wonderful sense of humor. She truly loved life.
She is preceded in death by her husband James D. Ryon Sr, daughter Sandra Alvarado; Parents, Clyde and Melveda Taylor
Brothers, Roger, Bobby and Wayne Taylor; Sisters, Charlotte Cook; Nephews, Brian Hartley; Nieces, Tonya Mathias and Michelle Taylor.
She is survived by her friend and companion James Austin Waldo, Children; Tim (Leslie) Waldo, Karen (Jaclynn) Nasco of Chattanooga and Jim (Donna) Ryon of South Dakota.
Grandchildren; Crystal (Chuck) White of Athens, Ashley and Abigail Sisco of Chattanooga and Austin Waldo of Chattanooga. Ashley Willcuts, Jon (Sunni) Willcutts, and Anthony Ryon, of South Dakota.
Great Grandchildren; Lane and Erin White of Athens; Riley, Jersey and Jaylee Willcuts of South Dakota.
Memorial services will be held Sunday April 29, 2018 at 2pm CST at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1-2pm CST prior to the service at Hood Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Harris Cemetery.
