Lula Vernell Kerley age 88 of Crossville,TN passed away on January12, 2023. She was born December 26, 1934 in Crossville TN the daughter of Amos and Gladys Seals Davis. She was an educator for more than 36 years. Her career began in August of 1952 and ended with her retirement in May of 1990. She taught at various schools in Cumberland and Roane Counties. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and angel to all.  Her family was her greatest joy and she loved them dearly, especially her grandchildren. She always said some of her best years was spending time with her grandsons. She is survived by her two sons, Ernest "Jr." Kerley and wife Henrietta of Crossville. William "Bill" Kerley of Crossville, brothers- Richard C. Davis and wife Stephanie of Oak Ridge, TN, Gordon Davis and wife Patti and Vaughn Davis all of Crossville, sister - Joyce Wyatt and husband Thomas of Crossville, grandsons- Ernest (Trey) Kerley and wife Amanda, Justin Kerley and wife Hayley all of Crossville, great grandchildren Ryder Kase Kerley, Samuel Jude Kerley and Hannah James Kerley all of Crossville.   In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ernest G. Kerley, brothers- Bill Davis and Al Davis, and infant sisters Jewel Edith and Lucille.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday January 17, 2023 at 1pm at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 1:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Big Lick Cemetery.
