LINDA DIANNE COLLINS age 76 of Monterey, TN passed away July 27, 2026. She was born July 13, 1950 in Greensboro, NC the daughter of Samuel and Barbara Schubert Prevatt. Linda was employed for more than thirteen years at Colinx and took an early retirement when she was diagnosed with cancer. She was most proud of her graduation in 2003 from Tennessee Tech with her Associates Degree in accounting at age 50. She will always be remembered for her love of a glass of crown and coke, a Marlboro cigarette and a good game of poker. She was a kind and generous lady who never met a stranger. She left a lasting impression on all she met.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years- John Collins of Monterey, TN, daughter – Rayven Collins and her partner Brian Armstrong of Cookeville, TN, son – Russell Mitchell and his wife Tracie of New Caney, TX, brothers- Michael Prevatt of North Carolina, Ken Prevatt of Virginia, David Prevatt of California and Randy Prevatt of North Carolina, sisters- Mindy Thompson and Shirley Jackson both of California, grandchildren- Aurora Armstrong, Shea Mitchell, Alyssa Mitchell and Taylor Dodge, several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews- Wendy, Cindy, Debbie and Little Stevie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter- Diana Mitchell Panter, and brothers- Jerry Prevatt, Stephen Prevatt and Terry Prevatt.

Funeral services will be held Saturday August 1, 2026 at 1pm at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11am-1pm two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hale’s Chapel Cemetery.
