Linda Jo (Newton) Betz, 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society in Fairfield Glade. She was born April 26, 1939 in rural Trussville, Alabama to the late James Cason Newton and Flora Annie (Vaughn) Newton. Linda was a nurse and administrator at Vanderbilt University Medical Center for almost 30 years. Linda married George Antone "Tony" Betz on November 17, 1984. Tony predeceased her on October 25, 2015. Linda and Tony were Fairfield Glade residents since 2000. Linda is survived by two children from a previous marriage, Misty Dawn (Mark) McGrady of Franklin, Tennessee, and Kerry Shawn (late Pam) Mason of Hendersonville, Tennessee. She is also survived by Tony's daughter, Rebecca Ann (Randy) Sheive of Cocoa, FL, and five adoring grandchildren, Aaron N. DeWitt, Caleb M. Dewitt, David B. Mason, Matthew I. Mason and Abigail G. Mason. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Linda's life on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church, Crossville, Tennessee.
