Obituary

LEON FRANKLIN TOLLETT age 84 of Crossville, TN passed away September 6, 2019. He was born January 28, 1935 in Crossville, TN the son of Samuel T. and Anne Barnwell Tollett. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of Tollett's Chapel Methodist Church. After his military service, he spent 6 years on the Crossville City Police Dept. serving as Asst. Chief and later spent 28 years with Tennessee Highway Patrol where he retired as Lieutenant. Leon then served our community as Sheriff of Cumberland County for a four year term. He was a faithful and dedicated Christian man who will be remembered as a loyal servant to his Lord, family and the community.

He is survived by sons- Anthony Tollett and his wife Debra of Crossville, TN and Brian Tollett and his wife Amy of Crossville, TN, daughter- Ottoma Leann Little and her husband Lannis of Maryville, TN, sister- Betty Payne of Spring City, TN, grandchildren- Alisha Ashburn and her husband Ryan, Rachel Polson and her husband Lonnie, Eli Tollett, Hayley Tollett, Dalton Tollett, Kim Baragona, Emery Baragona, Chelsea Manseill, Hannah Haney and her husband Caleb, Jacob Little and his wife Kelli and Mike Little, great grandchildren- Lexi Jackson, Jaxton Ashburn, Jaedyn Ashburn, Jadisyn Ashburn and Charlotte Haney and several nieces and nephews. The family would also like to thank his very special caregiver that was there from the beginning until the end- Rhonda Lee, and many heartfelt thanks also to Kansas Stamper and Barbara Serviss who too were very special to him and the family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Linda Tollett, brothers- Wilson Tollett, Woodrow Tollett, Sam Tollett Jr., Eugene Tollett and L.B. Tollett and sisters- Celia Bingham Seagrove, Nance Noland and Newell Kotus.

Funeral services will be held Monday September 9, 2019 at 4pm at Crossville First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1pm-4pm at Crossville First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
