Lena Vivian Cooke , age 97 years went to meet her Lord and Redeemer on January 10, 2018.

Mrs. Cooke was born on Jan 5, 1921 to Horace and Ella Atkins in Tellico Plains, TN. She was born a twin, her twin, Eva Cardin, preceded Lena in death in 2007.

Mrs. Cooke met and married William Guy Cooke. They were married 57 years and served together in the ministry of their Lord for over 30 years.

Mrs. Cooke is survived by 3 daughters, Guwina (Norrod) McCormick (Joe) of Murfreesboro, TN, Donna Ballard (Greg) of Midtown, TN, Lyvon Netherton( JB) of Crossville, TN. She has 4 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson.

She has one remaining sister Ethel Holder, age 100 of Aurora, CO. She is also survived by 3 brothers in law, Jim Cook and Aaron Cook, both of CA, and Wayne Cook ( Sylvia)of Cleveland TN , and sister in law Wylene Cooke of Augusta, GA , with a large number of nieces and nephews .

Mrs. Cooke lived in Community Care of Rutherford, in Rutherford County. She also leaves her beloved roommate, Betty Sneed, whom she loved deeply and who loved Lena. They were called "The Golden Girls", "Two Peas in a Pod" Where ever you saw Lena, you saw Betty and vice versa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. W. Guy Cooke, her parents Ella Tate Atkins and Horace Atkins, by sisters Beulah Atkins, Eula Lee, Lula Hawkins, and her twin Eva Cardin, a brother, James Atkins, and one grandson, Ben Norrod.

She was a humble, quiet, and dignified lady. If any one scripture is fitting for Lena Vivian Cooke, it is :

Matthew 23:21 " Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things.

Funeral services will be held Sunday January 14, 2018 at 2:00pm at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday January 14, 2018 from 12:00nonn -2:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Rev. Gerald Atkins, her nephew will officiate.
