Kent C. Pettigrew, 65, of Homestead, FL and Crossville, TN went home to be with the Lord on January 13, 2022.

Kent was born January 29, 1956 in Indianapolis, IN to C. Keith & Doris J. Pettigrew. He is survived by his wife Rita; daughter Kara Horbett (Adam); son Grant; grandchildren Krista, Katie, Khloe, Andersen, Ashten, Karalyne and Austen; sister Leslie Casey (Bob); brother Ron (Annette) and nieces and nephews.

He and the love of his life, Rita, recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.  Kent always shared the story that he knew that he wanted to marry Rita from the very first moment he saw her.

Kent loved God through his relationship with Jesus Christ. He loved his family, his friends, and golf, in that order.

Kent graduated from Arlington High School in Indianapolis, where he was active in sports as the quarterback of the football team and catcher with the baseball team. He performed in band and orchestra playing the trumpet, and was active in Student Council. As a young man, he achieved Eagle Scout and, as a father, engaged with his local Boy Scout Troop.

Kent graduated from Indiana University with a Masters in Environmental Science.  After college, Kent and Rita moved to Homestead, FL. Kent was a long time member of Old Cutler Presbyterian Church in Miami. He served as an elder, sang in the choir, and was active in men's Bible Studies.

The family will have a private service, the date is yet to be determined.
