JOHN H. SHORT age 91 of Crossville, TN passed away June17, 2023. He was born April 29, 1932, in Hondo, TX the son of Howard and Inez Heinen Short. He was retired after many years as an overseas construction manager and was also a veteran serving our country in the United States Marines and later in the United States Army.

He formerly attended Homestead United Methodist Church and Grassy Cove United Methodist Church. He was one of the founding members of the "Sonshine Soup Kitchen" at the Crossville First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife- Lisa A. Short of Crossville, TN, children- Lori Ann Thuener of Ohio, Phillip Ray Short and his wife Linda of Ohio, Cheri Lynne Wiseman and her husband Mike of Ohio and Karen Louise Shanks and her husband Kyle of Cookeville, TN, sisters- Sue Ann Jacoby of Texas and Thelma "Tess" Stiner also of Texas, seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmom- Evelyn "Snuffie" Short.

In accordance with John's wishes, no services are planned at this time. However, the family would like to express their gratitude for all the prayers and condolences received and respectfully asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in John's honor to a charity of your choice.
