JOANN BEATY age 83 of Crossville, TN passed away October 3, 2026. She was born August 7, 1943 in Shelbyville, TN the daughter of Perry and Maxine Cox Hensley. SHe worked many years in the Cumberland County School System and prior with the University of TN 4-H camp. She was a devoted remember of Dripping Springs Baptist Church. Joann was a loving and kind wife, mother and grandmother and was as fierce as she was gentle. She was LOVINGLY referred to as “the meanest woman in church”. Her husband Ed and all of her family was the most important part of her life.

She is survived by her son- Keith Beaty and his wife Tonya of Crossville, TN, brother- Cordell Hensley and his wife Eloise of Crossville, TN. grandchildren- Chelsi Whittaker and her husband Trey and Justin Pugh and great grandchildren- Maeleigh Rhea Whittaker, Georgia Kate Whittaker and Tensley Kay Pugh.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers- Junior Hensley and Jerry Hensley.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 7, 2026 at 2pm at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12noon-2pm two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
