JOHN DEMPSEY “JD” RECTOR, age 45 of Crossville, TN passed away peacefully at his home after a short battle of cancer on September 16, 2026. He was born August 27, 1981 in Crossville, TN the son of Johnny and Leslie Young Rector. He worked many years as a mechanic and was of the Baptist faith. “JD” was a man of many talents, mechanically inclined and could do anything he set his mind to. He was an avid gardener and was always proud of the bountiful crops he grew. He also loved all the racing days he spent with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his fiancee- Tracy Pugh of Crossville, TN, children- Hunter Rector of Crossville, TN, Haylee Rector of Crossville, TN, Michelle Collier, Jayme Collier, Austin Pugh, Luke Pugh and Khalia Pugh, grandchildren- Levi Bruce, Parker Bruce, Reagan Greer and Grayson Cunningham and special friend- Bill Thomas.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Monday September 21, 2026 at 2pm at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12pm-2pm two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pomona Cemetery.
