Obituary

JANICE GAIL NEITZKE, 78 of Crossville, TN, passed away December 22, 2020. She was born April 22, 1942 in Buffalo, NY the daughter of Samuel B. and Ada P. Jones Nichols. She lived a life motivated by service to others and a passion for new experiences. She balanced family life while attending college at the age of 40, graduating with highest honor as a registered nurse. She served as a RN for more than 20 years helping others in their time of need before retiring to Crossville, TN. She joined and served the 127 South Senior Center, Woodman of the world, and Pomona United Methodist Church in many different roles. While recognized for her service to the community, Jan is probably best known for coordinating senior trips across the US and overseas, and Jan's "diddies". Later in life, her passions led her to learn playing piano, speaking Spanish, and playing poker.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Emil William Neitzke. She is survived by her children- Scott Neitzke, Christopher (Amanda) Neitzke, Craig (Jennifer) Neitzke and Lisa (Steven) Fine, and sister- Louise (Al) Benavides. She also leaves behind eleven treasured grandchildren- Scott Jr., Katherine, Kyleigh, Sloane, Haley, Samuel, Garrett, Brandon, Caitlynn, Christopher and Joshua, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with CDC guidelines due to COVID, a Ceremony of Life will be held in the summer of 2021. Date and time will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pomona United Methodist Church in Crossville, TN.
