JAMES R. STAMPS age 81 of Mayland, TN passed away January 22, 2019. He was born April 2, 1937 in Detroit, MI the son of James Lester and Mertie Mae Madewell Stamps. He was a retired job superintendent in the commercial construction industry and was also a United States Air Force veteran. He was a member of Plateau Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday school teacher and song leader.

He is survived by his wife- Dorothy Stamps of Mayland, TN, children- Michael Stamps and his wife Kathy of Mayland, TN, Randy Habib and his wife Heike of Ohio, Susan Gomez and her husband Bob of Texas, Debbie Wright and her husband Vince of Georgia and Kathy Peebles of Florida, brother- David Stamps of Crossville, TN, sister- Gail Moore and her husband Lynn of Crossville, TN and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters- Bertie Mae Boyles and Kathy Ann Bryant.

Funeral services will be held Thursday January 24, 2019 at 8pm at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8pm at the funeral home prior to the service. Graveside Committal will be Friday at 11am at Mayland Cemetery.
