IRENE MARIE PETERSON, age 90 of Crossville, TN passed away September 26, 2021. She was born May 28, 1931 in Crossville, TN the daughter of Calvin and Deltia Brock Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Irene loved her church and she also loved music. She was a very talented musician and she and her husband Kenneth had played with the New Harmony Trio.

She is survived by her son- David Biggers and his wife Debbie of Michigan, Johnny Biggers of Crossville, daughter- Gloria Churchill and her husband Scott of Vermont, grandchildren- Kenny Biggers, Randy Hamm, Karen Wilcox, Brianna Daneker and her husband Curtis, Danielle Biggers and Cassie Sanborn, great grandchildren- Lilly, Craig, Jack, James, Rachel, Jonah and Sophia and seven great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Peterson, son- Bert Biggers, brothers- Herman Smith, Bill Smith, Carl Smith and Edward Smith and sisters- Janie Moore and Joyce Limburg.

Funeral services will be held Saturday October 2, 2021 at 1pm at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11am-1pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woody Cemetery.
