HENRY C. GERDES age 86 of Crossville, TN passed away March 11, 2019. He was born January 11, 1933 in Hackensack, NJ the son of Henry and Mildred Graham Gerdes. He was retired as a supervisor in the steel industry and was a United States Navy veteran. He was also a member of Crab Orchard Christian Church. He had a great interest in quarter horses, loved fishing and was a huge sports enthusiast, especially basketball and nascar racing. He was a big Jeff Gordon fan and an Indiana Hoosiers and Colts fan.

He is survived by his wife- Mildred Gerdes of Crossville, TN, sons- Danny Smith and wife Anita of Crossville, TN, Kenny Gerdes and wife Celia of Mesquite, TX, Mike Gerdes and wife Marla of Denton, TX, Billy Smith and wife Michelle of Crossville, TN, Jeff Gerdes and wife Janet of Crossville, TN, Ron Cohee and wife Pat of Gas City, IN and David Gerdes and wife Mary of Belton, TX, daughters- Debbie McCauley and husband James of Crossville, TN and Diana Cohee of Crossville, TN, twenty five grandchildren, thirty five great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday March 15, 2019 at 1:00pm at Crab Orchard Christian Church. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11:00am-1:00pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Green Acres Memory Gardens.

The family has asked in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Crab Orchard Christian Church Building Fund.
