Gayle D. (Shamblin) Chapman, 88 of Fairfield Glade TN passed away at her home on Apri l 5 , 2023. She was born January 31, 1935 in Kenova, West Virg i nia, the on l y chi l d of Arthur and V i rginia (Plymale) Shamb l in. She graduated from Ceredo - Kenova High School and attended Marshall Univers i ty and went on to work in the bank i ng and medical

industr i es l iving i n Proctorville, OH. Moving to Fairfield Glade in 1993 to retire with her husband J i m, she enjoyed gardening, golfing, arts and crafts-as wel l as being i nvolved i n several volunteer organizations.

She i s preceded in death by her parents, and husband Jim who passed in

2015. She is survived by her on l y chi l d Vicki (Roach) Dury, grandsons Joseph

Dury Jr. and Marsha l l (Melissa) Dury, and great granddaughters Sadie Dury

and Cora Dury.

Survivors also i nc l ude stepchi l dren Brenda Chapman, Kent ( J oleen) Chapman,

Ja m i (Chapman) Craig. Also step grandchildren Sean Sisk, Kendra ( L ance)

Ziebe l l, Heather Chapman, Ca l (Katie) Craig, and Ryan Cra i g. As well as step

great grandchildren Justice Sisk, Slade Sisk, Ka i tlyn Ziebel l , Ky l e Ziebell,

Jordan Legassie, and Kar l yn Ivey.

She also l eaves behind many cousins and friends, longtime family friend and

nurse Bever l y Chapman and devoted partne r John Thu r mond .

The family w i shes to thank Cher-ished Care and Caris for providing wonderful

care to Gay l e.

Funeral services are Apr il 1 3 at 11am at Hood Funeral Home with interment to

fo l low at Crossville City Cemetery .
