Gary Mitchell Spreacker, age 73, of Harriman, TN was called to his heavenly home on August 9 th , 2021,
from complications due to kidney cancer.
Gary was born on December 13 th , 1947, in Huntington, WV. He graduated Buffalo High School in 1965
and earned a BA in Bible from Appalachian Bible College. Gary received his ordination to be a pastor in
1970 at Nettleton Bible Church in Clifton Forge, VA. He served as pastor in various churches from 1970-
1997. Gary was the founder of Gary's Tire in Harriman, TN. He was much loved and respected by the
community. Gary was actively involved in his church, enjoyed reading his Bible and composing poems
and songs reflecting his great faith. He enjoyed being with family. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting,
fishing, and camping.
Gary was preceded in death by his wife Peggy L. Spreacker, parents Joseph David and Alta Mae Ball
(Huntington, WV), brother Darrell Lee Spreacker (Franklin Furnace, OH), half-brother James Wesley
Spreacker (Buckhannon, WV), and grandson Brett Edward Wilson (Rockwood, TN).
Gary is survived by his brother Don and Michelle Spreacker (Huntington, WV), his sister Lynn and David
Ball (Huntington, WV), former spouse and mother of their three children Grace M. Spreacker, daughter
Rachel L. Johnson with Ronald W. Barnes (Sinking Springs, PA), daughter Susanna R. and Rickey Hackler
(Rockwood, TN), son Daniel J. and Deborah Spreacker (Spring City, TN), stepson Michael and Dottie
Kerley (Ozone, TN) and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The visitation will be held at Hood Funeral Home in Crossville, TN on August 12th from 5-7pm (CST) and
the funeral will be held on August 13th at 10am (CST) at Lantana Grace Church in Crossville, TN with the
burial to follow at Big Lick Cemetery.
