Fred Buford Looper- Fred died peacefully at home on Februay 14, 2023. He was

born on January 9, 1937, in Blanchester, Ohio. Fred was raised in middle

Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Anne Nanney Looper. parents,

Erna Johnson Looper and Thomas Stanley Looper. He is survived by his

children, Marte Looper Johnson (Bill), Susan Looper Garrett Adkins, Gary

Looper, Beth Looper Henley; his bonus children, Tommy Coughlin (Anne), Pat

Coughlin (Jackie), Catherine Cassell (Chester), Mary Ann Tremblay (Jim),

Kellye Waller, Laura Burkett (John), Elizabeth Methvin (Tim); and 23

Grandchildren.

Fred was a physician for 43 years. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and

hunter. He enjoyed all sports related to the University of Tennessee. Fred

had a passion for traveling and seeing new places. He attended Sunday

school class at Crossville First United Methodist Church and enjoyed putting

on an annual fish fry for them. He especially enjoyed spending the past 31

years with his wife Laura traveling, reading, and visiting family. Fred will be

deeply missed by all the people whose lives he touched in meaningful ways

throughout his life.

The family will hold a private service to be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of

flowers, and for those wishing to honor his life, he requested donations be

made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Doctors Without Borders.
