Obituary

EUGENE "Gene" RICHARD BLAU AGE 80 OF Crossville, TN passed away September 1, 2020. He was born March 7, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY the son of David and Mollie (Schlefstein) Blau. He was a graduate of Carmel High School and received his Pharmacy degree from Fordham University. He then joined his
father in the business where he owned and operated Lake Carmel Pharmacy for 44 years. He worked
endless hours and made many great friends throughout the years. He was an avid fisherman and loved
taking his children Jeffrey and Robyn boating and fishing. He was also a licensed pilot and enjoyed
flying. After his retirement, he and his wife Evelyn ("Dean") moved to Crossville in 2005, leaving behind
his water activities and taking up his new hobbies of golfing and RVing. He had an interest in guns and
range shooting and was a member of the Fairfield Glade Sportsman's Club. Eugene was a well known
and respected business man who had many friends both in New York and Crossville. He delighted
people with his humor and his kindness.
He is survived by his son- Jeffrey Blau and his wife Carol of Atlanta, GA and daughter- Robyn Eichenholz of Orlando, FL, grandchildren- Jonathan Eichenholz and Ella Eichenholz and step grandchildren- Anthony Vilegas and Nicole Vilegas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Dean Blau.
Friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life reception to be held on Thursday, September 3, at
11:30 AM at the outside pavilion at Fairfield Glade Sportsman's Club, 650 Shorty Barnes Rd, Crossville,
TN.
A small graveside service with family will be held in Valhalla, New York, at a future date.
