DOUGLAS D. PEAVLER age 81 of Crossville, TN passed away June 23, 2026. He was born March 26, 1945 in Brookfield, MO the son of Arthur and Fern Riddle Peavler. He was retired after 23 years with the Kansas City Missouri Police Dept. as a Detective. Douglas held the high honor of Master Mason and was a member of the Cumberland Shrine Club having served at least two times as President as well as serving as President of Provost, his chapter in Kansas City. He was heavily involved with the Shrine Roadrunners and the Widows Sons. These were all proud accomplishments that he also passed down to his son Randy.

He is survived by his wife- Janice Peavler of Crossville, TN, sons- Randy Peavler of Garden City, MI and Gordon Benedict of Cookeville, TN, daughter- Audra Ayers of Raymore, MO, grandchildren- Valerie Peavler, Larry wild, Kyle Peavler and Kaylee Gorman, great grandchildren- Brody, Broxen, Ella Ava, Kaitlyn and Bastian and several special nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers- Alvin Peavler and Mert Peavler and sisters- Caroletta Ogle and Deloma Moore.

Funeral services will be held Sunday June 28, 2026 at 1pm at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 11am-1pm two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Sunbright, TN.
