DARREL HARRY SWAYZE age 89 of Crossville, TN passed away August 7, 2026. He was born October 31, 1936 in Center Moriches, Long Island, NY the son of John D. and Mabel E. Schaffner Swayze. He worked many years as a first mate on a fishing boat off Long Island before owning his own construction material delivery business. Darrel was a kind and helpful man who never met a stranger. He was always smiling and made friends wherever he went.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years- Geraldine Swayze of Crossville, TN, many special cousins and nieces- Terri Blasko and Janet Vaillancourt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings- Duane Swayze, Della Swayze Biamonte and Douglas Swayze.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday August 11, 2026 at 2pm at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12noon-2pm two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. The burial will be in Green Acres Memory Garden.
