Obituary

On July 19, 2023, we say goodbye to a beloved soul who
faced life's battles with immense courage and resilience.
Dale E. Reining, a man of both joys and sorrows, touched
the lives of many during his time with us. His journey may
have been marked by the shadows of severe depression,
but it was illuminated by moments of love and cherished
memories.

Born on February 2, 1972, Dale's journey began with hope
and promise. As a child, he showed remarkable kindness
and an infectious sense of humor, endearing him to friends
and family alike. As he grew older, he began facing
challenges of depression that often lurked in the shadows
of his life. Despite these struggles, he continued to fight,
seeking moments of happiness, and striving for a sense of
purpose that would bring him peace.

Throughout his life, Dale grappled with his inner demons
while simultaneously trying to be there for those he loved.
Dale's battle with depression did not define him; it was
only a part of his complex and beautiful story. He was a
person of many talents and passions, with a deep love for
the arts and a creative flair that shone through in his
endeavors. His artistic expressions brought joy to those
around him and served as a reminder of the depth of his
soul. Dale was a loving son, brother, father, and
grandfather. Dale used his many passions, such as
woodwork and art, to help express his love for those he
held dear to his heart by creating wonderful and beautiful
items for them to cherish forever.

In the company of nature, Dale found moments of serenity
that provided respite from his inner struggles. Whether he
was looking for a rainbow in the sky or watching the sunrise
and set, he found solace in the beauty of the world around
him. These moments served as a reminder that there was
still light to be found amidst the darkness.

Dale's family and friends stood by his side throughout his
journey, offering unwavering support and love. They
recognized the essence of the person he was beyond his
struggles and were a pillar of strength when he needed it
the most. Not long before his passing, Dale was brought to
the Lord through the love, compassion, and teachings of
Nathan Houser and his pastor, Brother Doyle. The love of
family, friends, and Jesus Himself became a beacon of hope
for Dale, reminding him that he was never alone in his
battles.

As we bid farewell to Dale E. Reining, we remember the
complexity of his life—a life filled with both joys and
hardships. We honor the battles he fought, the courage he
displayed, and the love he shared with those around him.
Let us remember Dale not solely for his struggles but for
the beautiful soul he was, the laughter he brought, and the
love he offered.

In celebration of his life, a memorial service will be held on
July 23, 2023, at Cumberland Mountain State Park. In lieu of
flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the
National Alliance on Mental Health in honor of Dale's
memory.

May we keep the memory of Dale alive in our hearts and
minds, and may his story serve as a reminder to be
compassionate, understanding, and supportive to those
who face their own battles with depression.

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be
no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things

are gone forever." - Revelations 21:4
