CHARLOTTE ANN SMITH age 79 of Crossville, TN passed away July 11, 2026. She was born June 30, 1947 in Crossville, TN the daughter of James T. and Willie M. Pippens Mahaney. Charlotte was a devoted and faithful Christian lady who served as a Pastor’s wife to her husband Billy Smith Sr. for 42 years. Along with their four children, she and her husband fostered fifteen children throughout their life together. They always provided a loving home with a Christian upbringing. She loved children and she and her daughter Beverly Ann operated Precious Kids Daycare for more than fifteen years. Her love and kindness will always be remembered by those who were blessed to have known her.

She is survived by her sons- Joey Smith and his wife Hope and Kevin Smith and his wife Angela all of Crossville, TN, daughters- Rhonda Lynn Beaty and Susan Beaty Kersey both of Crossville, TN, grandchildren- Whitney Adcox, Shawn Davidson and his wife Sabrina, Zackary Smith and his wife Josie, Kermit Smith, Courtney Smith and her fiance’ Trever Edwards, Abigail Honey and her husband Nick, Oliva Smith and Jessica Smith, great grandchildren- Gabriel Davidson, Nevaeh Davidson, Carsen Ayers Blackmon, Jedidiah Smith, Zyler Smith, Kaydence Smith, Mavis Smith, Evelyn Conley, Gracen Conley and Dalton Russell, her beloved cat- Ellie and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Billy Smith Sr., daughter- Beverly Ann Smith Adcox, granddaughter- Jelesa Smith Conley, brothers- Ernest, Estes, Roger, Everett, James and David Mahaney and sisters- Wanda Mahaney Smith and Betty Mahaney Roach.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 15, 2026 at 3pm at Hood funeral Home The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1pm-3pm two prior to the service at the funeral home. The burial will be in Hedgecoth Cemetery.
