Carol’s life was rich with diverse interests that revealed her vibrant personality.

Carol Marie Welch, born on January 2, 1942, in Milford, Connecticut, passed away on July 28, 2026, in Crossville, Tennessee. Carol’s life was a testament to dedication, compassion, and devotion—both to her chosen profession and, most deeply, to her beloved family.

Carol served as a Licensed Practical Nurse for a decade at Cumberland Medical Center. Her commitment to her patients was matched only by her empathy and professionalism. Through her years of service, she offered care and comfort during times of need, earning the admiration and appreciation of colleagues and patients alike.

Beyond her career, Carol’s life was rich with diverse interests that revealed her vibrant personality. She was an avid bridge player, a talented quilter, and she took great pleasure in golfing and traveling. Carol’s love for animals was well known, and her fondness for the beach spoke to her appreciation for nature and tranquility. Throughout her life, Carol maintained a deep and abiding commitment to her family, whom she regarded as her proudest accomplishment.

Carol is survived by her loving daughters, Patti Welch (Don Beane) and Peggy Welch (Margo Carroll) ; her cherished son, Michael Welch (Lynn Welch) ; her beloved son, John Welch (Carrye Welch) ; and her grandchildren Ben, Melissa (Meridith), Carolyn, Alex, Samantha, Liana, Zachary, Byrd, and Jacob, brother-in-law Donald Welch, and sister-in-law Gale Welch.

Carol’s love for animals was well known, and her fondness for the beach spoke to her appreciation for nature and tranquility.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernadine Woiknoris; father, John Woiknoris; brother, Alan Woiknoris; and her husband, James D. Welch. The memory of these beloved family members remained close to Carol’s heart throughout her life.

A Funeral Mass honoring Carol Welch’s remarkable life will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, located at 151 St Alphonsus Way, Crossville, TN 38555, on August 5, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM.

Carol's leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family, career, her very special life long friends who she shared many memories and laughs over the years and her community. She will be remembered for her warmth, her enthusiasm for life, and her enduring love for those around her.
