BUDDY CAREY BIRGE age 79 of Crossville, TN passed away August 26, 2026. He was born January 30, 1947 in Sulfur Lick, KY the son of Arlie B. and Lillie Mae Hood Birge. He was retired after many years as an auto mechanic with several major car dealerships in the Nashville area. After retiring in Nashville, he and his wife Dee moved back to Crossville where he continued to work with Hood Funeral Home until fully retiring. He was also a United States Army veteran stationed the majority of his service in Germany where he met his wife Dee. Buddy was a man of many skills. He could build and fix anything. He also had a tremendous zest for fly fishing and loved making his own lures. He loved camping on the lake with his wife and gardening.

He was a true friend to those he cared for and was always honest and forthright. He loved his family and they were the center of his attention and affection. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his devoted wife- Dee Birge of Crossville, TN, son- Tony Birge of Nashville, TN, daughter- Angie Joyner and her husband Steven of Portland, TN, granddaughter- Heather Draffin and her husband Michael of Munford, TN, great grandchildren- Brayden Baker, Jaxson Baker and Raelyn Draffin and brother- Billy Birge of Georgia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather- Charlie Houston.
