BILLY J. SMITH, age 80 of Crossville, TN passed away March 12, 2024. He was born May 27, 1943, in Crossville, TN, the son of Kermit and Evelyn Barnwell Smith. He spent more than forty years serving our community as a Pastor with 32 of those years at Liberty Baptist Church. He was a true man of God who lived his life leading others to Christ. He was greatly admired and will be missed by all who were blessed to have known him.

He is survived by his wife- Charlotte Smith of Crossville, TN, sons- Joey Smith (Hope) and Kevin Smith (Angela) all of Crossville, daughters- Rhonda Beaty and Susan Kersey both of Crossville, son-in-law- Ronnie Adcox of Crossville, brothers- Lynn Smith (Anita) and Ronnie Smith all of Crossville, grandchildren- Whitney Adcox (Kristy Russell), Shawn Davidson (Sabrina), Zackary Smith (Josie), Kermit Smith, Courtney Smith (Trevor Edwards), Abigail Smith, Olivia Smith and Jessica Smith and great grandchildren- Gabriel Davidson, Navaeh Davidson, Carsen Ayers-Blackmon, Jedidiah Smith, Zyler Smith, Kaydence Smith, Mavis Smith, Evelyn Conley, Gracen Conley and Dalton Russell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter- Beverly Ann Smith-Adcox, twin brother- Bobby Smith and brother- Jimmy Wayne Smith and granddaughter- JeLesa Smith-Conley.

Funeral services will be held Sunday March 17, 2024, at 3pm at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1pm-3pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hedgecoth Cemetery.

His son Pastor Joey Smith will officiate with kind words being spoken by Pastor Dean Patton, Pastor Brian Smith and Pastor Doyle Ashburn. Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Roysdon, Shalon Turner, Dustin Pelfrey, Jamey Demetro, Matt Mathis, Justin Pelfrey, Casey Qualls and Shawn Davidson.
